Today you will write TWO thorough critiques using the Critique Guide.
Copy and Paste the questions from the Critique Guide and change your answers to a different text color.
1. the first will be a critique of one of your pictures from field trip. Include a copy of the picture with your critique.
2. The second will be a critique of one of your classmate's pictures from the field trip. Include the picture and the name of the classmate.

Water Drop Photography - Due Today
Today we will experiment with water drop photography.
You will need to use your technical skills plus hope for a little (or a lot) bit of luck.
Use a water bucket and lighting to set up the picture. On your camera, use a very fast Shutter Speed, Continuous Shooting mode and Manual focus to get the best picture.
Use Photoshop to Crop and fine tune the overall picture.

Exposure Bracketing
To be confident that you have captured the correct exposure in a film camera, use the following technique:
Exposure Bracketing - Find the settings that you feel would give you the best range of values, shadows, mid-tones, and highlights.
For example, take the first photo with ISO 400, 1/60, f 8
Then take a picture using f 5.6 and f 11
Take 3 pictures and bracket each one. You will have a total of 9 pictures to post to your blog. Include the settings for each picture.

Find Correct Exposure Settings - Post to your blog
Soon we will begin to work with actual film, but first we need to find the correct settings to use with the new type of camera.
So today we will go out and take 10 pictures with the digital camera.
Set your camera to ISO 400, because that is the type of film we will be using.
we will also be using Black and White film, so I will show you how to set your camera to Monochrome.
Use at least 2 different lighting situations, such as outside bright sunlight, inside the building, or in a shaded area outside.
Using all of the knowledge that you gained from photo 1, choose the correct shutter speed and aperture to take well composed, properly exposed pictures, using ISO 400.
Upload the 10 pictures to your blog with the exposure settings for each picture.
When we start using the film cameras you will take the same pictures using the same settings.

Welcome to Photo 2!
Welcome to class! Prepare yourself to be challenged! Photo 1 was safe and easy for most of you, but now it's time to seriously explore your creative and expressive side.
The expectations are significantly higher this time.
First we'll go over the syllabus and projects for the semester, and then we'll each set up a blog.
After you create your blog send the address to me at: johncazort@ozarktigers.org
